The PAGS 2010 Annual Show. Full Details..

The PAGS are currently running a campaign to educate the public into the differences between Geraniums and Pelargoniums. Further information can be found on our Geraniaceae Group page, but...

2010 Annual Show Basically the common Geranium is a hardy beast that does well in our temperate climate outside in a herbacious border. It dies down each winter and grows back in the late spring to flower again in the summer.

The half hardy summer type bedding plants that you get from Garden Centres in the spring and summer and are usually always called 'Geraniums' are actually 'PELARGONIUMS'. They are evergreen and will last for years if given a frost free environment during the winter (not easy this year)

We list a number of specialist nurseries that nearly all call them by their proper name so if you are looking for something a bit different have a look.

More information can be found in the links to the left.
