It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of the Pelargonium breeder Ken Dymond. Ken was mostly famed for his breeding of Angel pelargoniums, the majority of which (but not all) he prefixed with ‘Quantock’, after the Quantock hills in the area in which he lived in Somerset. Ken also bred a number of ‘Mendip’ series Regals and a few ‘Blackdown’ series Zonals.
The PAGS would like to pass on our sincere condolences to all of his family.
The picture shows Ken (left) receiving the RHS Reginald Cory Memorial Cup from the RHS Chairman Sir Nicholas Bacon OBE. Ken received this award, as a grower of important hybrids of any Genus, at a ceremony at the RHS Halls in Central London on February 27th 2015.
